HEALTHThe firm has a long history of working with tribes, tribal consortia, and tribal agencies in establishing and operating tribally-controlled, on- and off-reservation health programs. Partners in the firm have assisted in the initial establishment and funding of tribal health agencies; in annual negotiations for funding tribal health programs; and in establishing Title V compacts between the federal government and tribal health programs. Where unavoidable, the firm has litigated on behalf of tribes to protect their health programs from attacks directed at funding, operations (including employment litigation), and sovereignty. On an ongoing basis, the attorneys and staff are available to provide immediate counsel and advice by telephone, email, and personal appearances. The firm's overriding goal in the field of Indian health care is to assist tribes and tribal agencies in their efforts to provide high quality, culturally appropriate health care to their tribal members and communities. |
