Ms. Page specializes in the areas of land claim litigation, cultural resource protection, and environmental law. She was a staff attorney at the Indian Law Resource Center in Washington, D.C. from 1998 to February of 2007 before joining the firm of Alexander, Berkey, Williams & Weathers in March of 2007.
While at the Indian Law Resource Center, Ms. Page represented the Mohawk Nation (wrote briefs, securing pre-trial victories in land claim litigation in federal district court; represented Nation in multi-year settlement negotiations with New York State culminating in historic land claim settlement agreement; assisted in drafting federal legislation and in political advocacy to implement settlement; negotiated ceremonial hunting agreement with New York); the Tonawanda Seneca Nation (conducted historical research, wrote briefs and argued motions in land claim litigation in federal district court; wrote briefs on appeal to Second Circuit Court of Appeals and in support of certiorari to the Supreme Court; represented Tonawanda in settlement negotiations with New York State; advised Tonawanda on matters related to the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act); the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois Confederacy) in efforts to establish Confederacy-produced identification documents as compliant with federal law and Department of Homeland Security regulations; the Maya communities of Southern Belize (helped to secure precedent-setting decision recognizing Maya collective rights to traditional lands in case before the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights; and the Quechan Indian Nation in its efforts to protect sacred sites from destruction by gold mining companies.
In addition, Ms. Page advocated for stronger Indian rights protections in policies and procedures of the World Bank and Inter-American Development Bank, including successful effort to strengthen World Bank land rights protections; collaborated with Indian nations and non-governmental organizations to promote strong international indigenous rights standards in the Organization of American States and the United Nations
